Year in Review, Revisited

Via hsapiens, greeneyes_rpi, la_directora, and others..

[1.] What is one thing you did in 2005 that you'd never done before?

Married someone.

[2.] Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I may try making NYE resolutions this year. I did participate in getting holiday cards out this year. It took over 40 hours. Don't know if I'll do it again.

[3.] Did someone close to you give birth?

Yes. Several someones.

[4.] Did anyone close to you die?

[5.] What countries did you visit?

Canadia. ;-)

[6.] What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?

Sleep. An unlimited trust fund. A job that allows me to spend every night with my husband.

[7.] What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

January 14 - wedding

[8.] What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Getting married, taking a leave of absence from work. It was hard to wrestle the Puritan Work Ethic to the table and take time off.

[9.] What was your biggest failure?

Either my unwillingness to improve my health, exercise regularly, and lose weight OR my inability to find a job locally.

[10.]Did you suffer illness or injury?

Just, you know, the Peresephone thing. Ok, and a flu/cold/sinus infection bout or two.

[11.] What was the best thing you bought?

[12.] Whose behavior merited celebration?

I think most of you who read this journal have news or behavior that I think merits celebrations. Also, a few new moms and brides and colleagues who found better jobs, and friends with the courage to make difficult decisions to improve their lives.

[13.] Whose behavior made you appalled?

The usual.

[14.]Where did most of your money go?

Impulse spending? Actually, probably to supporting my person when I took a few months off.

[15.] What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Learning new things and developing new skills. And my husband. And the spa in Santa Fe in the winter.

[16.]What song will always remind you of 2005?

"Come Back to Texas" - Bowling for Soup

[17.] Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or hardened? Yes.

ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter.

iii. richer or poorer? Poorer.

[18.] What do you wish you'd done more of?

Exercising. Learning new topics not related to my job.

[19.]What do you wish you'd done less of?

Not taking care of my health.

[20.] How will you be spending Christmas?

My house, my parents' house, my sister and bro-in law's house, and home again.

[22.] Did you fall in love in 2005?

More so, yes.

[23.] Any one-night stands?

[24.] What was your favourite TV program?

[25.] Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I tend to deal with huge trauma by forgetting it. Wonder if there are people I no longer remember?

[26]. What was the best book you read?

I read new books every 2-3 days. It's hard to pick just one. It wasn't _The Da Vinci Code_.

[27.] What was your greatest musical discovery?

Diana Krall, maybe? Bowling for Soup is fun, though.

[28.] What did you want and get?

Time with loved ones.

[29.] What did you want and not get?

To make a change in my lifestyle.

[30.]Favorite film of this year?

Erm. Dunno. Not a big fan of most of the ones I've seen.

[31.] What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Haven't had it yet.

[32.] What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

You know the theme...

[33.] How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?

Is it close enough to corporate casual?

[34.]What kept you sane?

I'll echo la_directora here: My friends, my cats and music

[35.] Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

???? Fred Astaire. Movies are on DVD now!

[37.] Whom do you miss?

My friends, my husband, my family. Can you tell I'm in Toledo tonight?

[38.] Who was the best new person you met?

[39.] Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:

I'm still repeating some of these lessons.

I love this meme! I've learned something new about each person who has done it. Hope that you get that job in 2006 that allows you to stay in one city. *hugs*
